明日便是中秋，月圆将至，人间却传来一声别离。中国国家话剧院一级演员游本昌先生，于 9 月 24 日清晨在北京安详辞世，享年 93 岁。一代人记忆里的济公，《繁花》中通透睿智的爷叔，走完了他丰盈从容的一生。

《金刚经》有言：“一切有为法，如梦幻泡影，如露亦如电，应作如是观。” 游本昌先生一生演戏七十余载，半生甘当配角，默默演了七十九个无名小角色，方等到济公这第八十个角色。世人记住他疯癫洒脱、扶危济困的济公形象，看见他晚年在《繁花》里举重若轻的爷叔，皆是戏中之相。正如经中所云 “凡所有相，皆是虚妄”，他从没有执着于名利光环，始终信奉 “没有小角色，只有小演员”，以文艺化导人心，便是他一生的修行。

《心经》写：“心无挂碍，无挂碍故，无有恐怖，远离颠倒梦想，究竟涅槃。” 先生的离去，没有病痛，安然长眠，恰是这般心境。他自幼与禅结缘，一生参悟世事无常，尝遍人间起伏，却始终保有慈悲。晚年依旧心怀热忱，鲐背之年仍笃守初心，九十岁郑重递交入党申请，以微薄之力投身公益，济人善心，恰如济公精神的现世延续。

丰子恺曾说：不乱于心，不困于情，不畏将来，不念过往。游本昌先生便是这般，入戏时倾尽赤诚，出戏后看淡荣辱。舞台与荧幕的故事终会落幕，但他留下的善良、坚守与通透，不会消散。

明月将圆，秋风寄念。先生此去，如渡彼岸。世间再无济公摇蒲扇，但那份慈悲豁达，长留人间。愿游本昌先生安息。

Farewell to Mr. You Benchang: Peace Beyond the Stage, a Peaceful Heart Is Home

The Mid-Autumn Festival falls tomorrow. As the moon is about to turn full, we receive news of parting. Mr. You Benchang, National First-Class Actor of the National Theatre of China, passed away peacefully in Beijing on the morning of September 24, at the age of 93. The Jigong in the memory of a generation, and the wise Master Yeshu in Blossoms Shanghai, has concluded his rich and peaceful life.

The Diamond Sutra states: All conditioned phenomena are like a dream, an illusion, a bubble, a shadow, like dew or lightning; see all existence thus. Mr. You devoted more than seventy years to acting. For half his life, he played minor roles silently. It was not until his eightieth role that he got to play Jigong. People remember him as the unrestrained, compassionate Jigong who helped the needy, and the poised Master Yeshu in his later years. These are all forms within the drama. As the sutra puts it, All appearances are illusory. He never clung to fame and fortune. He always believed, “There are no small roles, only small actors.” Guiding people’s hearts through art was his lifelong spiritual practice.

The Heart Sutra reads: When the mind is without hindrance, there is no fear. Free from delusive dreams, one attains ultimate nirvana. Mr. You departed peacefully without suffering, embodying this state of mind. He had been drawn to Zen since childhood. Having experienced ups and downs of life, he always kept compassion in his heart. Even in his old age, he stayed passionate. At ninety, he formally applied to join the Communist Party of China and devoted himself to public welfare with modest means, carrying forward Jigong’s spirit of kindness.

Feng Zikai once wrote: Do not be confused by your heart, trapped by emotions, afraid of the future, or haunted by the past. This perfectly describes Mr. You. He devoted himself wholeheartedly when acting, and viewed glory and disgrace lightly off screen. Stories on stage and screen will eventually end, yet the kindness, perseverance and insight he left behind will never fade.

The moon will soon be full, and autumn winds carry our remembrance. Mr. You has crossed to the other shore. We will no longer see Jigong waving his palm-leaf fan, yet his compassion and open-mindedness remain forever in the world. May Mr. You Benchang rest in peace.
